翠林村属漳州市龙海区榜山镇，位于九龙江下游的平原上，靠近林仔山山麓。古时称林下，村民住在苍翠的林仔山下，雅称“翠林”，村名由此而来。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1947年，此地归龙溪县土亭乡的土亭保管辖。1952年成为龙溪县第二区的翠林乡；1959年改为榜山公社的翠林大队；1960年随龙溪县并入龙海县。1984年村级建制确定为翠林村，隶属榜山乡；1992年撤乡建镇后，1993年起归龙海市榜山镇的翠林村委会管理。[1]
