宅前村是颜厝镇下辖的镇乡结合区村。村中原有前黄、后黄、上黄三社，多为黄姓；后有杨姓迁入，在前黄之前建宅，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1939年，村地归龙溪县颜潮乡宅前保管辖。1952年，划归龙溪县第一区里前乡。1959年，颜厝公社设宅前大队。[1]

1993年起，村委会称龙海市颜厝镇宅前村委会。[1]
