马州村是颜厝镇下辖的行政村，西面临九龙江西溪。[2]

地名由来[edit]

马州村旧名玛江，是九龙江边冲积出来的一块小洲，四周环水，绕村的社河道名为“洗马河”，形状如马头。当地人管这类四面环水的陆地叫“洲仔”，又把玛江俗称为马洲，因州与洲同音，村名就写作马州。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1947年，村地归龙溪县潮阻乡马洲保管辖。1993年起，村委会改称龙海市颜厝镇马州村委会，此名沿用至今。[1]
