颜厝镇位于福建省漳州市区南侧，属漳州高新技术产业开发区代管，龙海区政府公布的行政区划表因此不计入该镇。[1][4]
镇境西面与九湖镇相邻，北面隔西溪与龙文区的碧湖、蓝田两个街道相望，南面以山岭与双第华侨农场为界。境内最高点为牛头寨山，海拔540.8米，气候属南亚热带季风气候区。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
颜厝镇别称古县，据博雅地名网所载，这里是南朝梁大同年间龙溪县的所在地。[2]
1939年，村落分属龙溪县的颜潮乡等乡保，新中国成立初期部分村归白云乡管辖。1960年并县后设龙海县颜厝公社，1984年改为颜厝乡，1992年颜厝乡改设为镇，1993年改称龙海市颜厝镇。[3]
地理环境[edit]
颜厝镇位于漳州市区南郊，距厦门机场约50公里，距漳州港约35公里，距厦漳高速公路仅约5公里。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
白云岩景区位于洪塘村，宋代大儒朱熹的「紫阳夫子解经处」一说即在此地。[2][5]
据博雅地名网，元末名将陈友谅曾在镇内的鱼嘴岩屯兵扎寨。[2]
镇域曾获「福建省生态乡镇」称号。[1]
