小梅溪村属九湖镇，靠近九龙江南岸，与漳州市区隔江相对，是城乡交界地带。[1]

村名的来历：村中有梅山宫，村西侧一条小溪，取「梅」「溪」二字为村名；同名的两个梅溪村中此村较小，故称小梅溪。[1]

革命历史[edit]

小梅溪村是革命老区村，解放战争时期，村中涌现出一批为建立新中国而工作的地下交通员。[1]

村民以种植水仙花为主，兼种蔬菜和各类花卉苗木。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村委会称谓：1984年时为龙海县九湖乡小梅溪村委会，1993年起改称龙海市九湖镇小梅溪村委会。[1] 1959年，村属九湖公社的小梅溪大队；1952年为第九区小梅溪乡；1947年，此地是龙溪县莲塘乡梅溪保。[1]
