斗美村是港尾镇下辖的行政村，村前海面礁石成群。村名的来历与海上礁群的形势有关。[1]
名称来历[edit]
村前海面上，青礁居首，群礁相拥，整片地势有半岛的样子，故称斗美。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
洪武二十一年（1388年）前后，此地属漳浦县二十三都之八图。嘉靖四十五年设海澄县，原属漳浦县二十三都的这一带划归海澄县，岛美也归海澄县辖。[2]
1940年海澄县分为四区，岛美属第三区，隶属太武乡岛美保。1950年为海澄县第三区岛美乡，1959年为港尾公社岛美大队，两县合并后称岛美大队，归龙海县港尾公社。[2]
1977年起为港尾乡斗美村；1988年乡改镇，村名定为港尾镇斗美村；1993年曾改为龙海市港尾镇岛美村委会，后又改回斗美，沿用至今。[2]
