城外村是港尾镇下辖的行政村。村子建在浦西城堡的围墙之外，村名因此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1947年这里属海澄县港尾镇城外保的林尾保。1952年归海澄县第三区，设城外乡；1958年一度归店地乡。1959年成为港尾公社的城外大队。[1]
两县合并后，它仍是龙海县港尾公社的城外大队。1984年，港尾乡设城外村；1988年随乡改镇，改称港尾镇城外村；1993年改为龙海市港尾镇城外村委会。[1]
