上午村是港尾镇下辖的行政村。村名经过两次改动：原称上地村，属地五保；新中国成立后改称上五，后因「五」与「午」谐音，定名为上午。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1947年此地为海澄县港尾镇的上午保。1952年归海澄县第三区，设上午乡；1958年归火箭人民公社，1959年成为港尾公社的上午大队。[1]

两县合并后，它归龙海县港尾公社，仍为上午大队。1984年改设港尾乡上午村委会。1988年乡改镇后，此村以港尾镇的建制延续；1993年起，它以龙海市港尾镇上午村委会的名义沿用至今。[1]
