井园村是白水镇的行政村，与庄林、金鳌、磁美、郊边等村相邻。村名是1954年把山美的「井仔」与本村的「园尾后」合并组成农业社时，各取一字而成。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期此地属漳浦县官浔镇的三保保。新中国成立初属漳浦县第三区山美乡，1957年划归海澄县。1959年从山美大队中划出，另设井园大队。[3]
1960年划为龙海县白水公社井园大队；1984年起称井园村，1993年龙海改市后改称龙海市白水镇井园村委会。[3]
同年10月，村入选福建省农业农村厅认定的「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；同年12月，村获评「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
