桥头村位于镇境东部，沿九龙江下游的壶屿港而建，东与鸿渐村、金山村相邻，西接西边村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传一位和尚路过此地，出资修建了壶屿桥，村子位于桥头，故名。[1]

沿革[edit]

清代属同安县明盛乡积善里十九都，民国时属同安县角尾乡桥头保。1959年归龙溪县角美公社桥头大队，1984年定名为龙海县角美镇桥头村，1993年改为龙海市的村委会。[1]
