课堂村位于角美镇西南部，东邻东美村，南隔北港与沙洲村相望，西与榜山镇长洲村隔江对峙。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村民由沙坂村迁来开基，最初叫“果堂”；种柑橘龙眼时写作“菓堂”；抗战期间水果卖不出去，改种水稻，又写作“粿堂”；后来兴办教育，才定名“课堂”。[1]
沿革[edit]
1984年村名定为龙海县角美镇课堂村，1993年成为龙海市角美镇下的课堂村委会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内有郑成功部队与清军激战的课堂寨遗址，以及陈氏宗贤堂、燕翼堂两座祠堂。[2]
