东美社区位于角美镇西郊，是东美村的中心所在，街区由太平街、后面街和东兴街构成。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，徐氏先人在江东桥东侧的小港湾尾端定居，“美”与“尾”音近，于是称东美。[1]
沿革[edit]
社区于1984年自角美镇分出，设立东美居委会，1993年起以龙海市角美镇东美居委会的名义运作。[1]
古建筑[edit]
后面街与太平街是民间早年建成的骑楼式街道，街面上仍可见数家老字号的店招。2012年，「历史文化古街」之名经漳州市委宣传部公布。[1][2]
