解放街是角美镇的老城区社区，东接角嵩路，北临324国道，南与共和街相邻。1984年成立，是角美镇第二个设立的居民委员会。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区居民委员会于1984年设立，在角美镇各居委会中排行第二。辖区内早年是角美的主要商业街区，同安街、民主路等处聚集了数百家铺面，既是商埠也是居民区。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区境内竖有革命烈士纪念碑，每年的公祭日活动都在此举行。[1]
