扬美社区是福建省漳州市芗城区石亭街道下辖的社区，原为洋尾村。[1][2]

原村名读音不雅，当地群众多有意见，后改取读音相近的“扬美”为名，寓意美好，名称也更文雅。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村民的先祖自龙海市翠林村迁来定居。此地旧属龙溪县石亭区，解放后划入五区的埔里乡，1958年改属星火公社洪坑耕作区。1961年归漳州市石亭公社，设洋尾大队。1984年起，此地称石亭乡洋尾村委会，其后更名扬美村；2020年6月3日起为扬美社区居民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。2021年2月，福建省公布2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单，村（社区）榜上有名。[1]
