向阳村在向阳乡政府驻地西北方向约0.3公里处，位于帽山东侧与高尖山北侧之间的山谷中。[1]村名与境内的五台山有关：此山中峰能望见东海日出，俗称观日台，又叫向阳山，村名就取自这座山。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代这里归德教乡当庭里管辖，元明清三代称八都。1949年以后划入帽山乡。[1]

1956年改称顶星农业社，1959年又改为向阳大队，归梅山火箭公社管辖。之后转归九都公社，1970年划归向阳公社，1984年起称向阳乡向阳村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

全村共有4个自然村，分别是巷仔、尾楼、坂美和新厝，另设11个村民小组。[1]

经济[edit]

耕地553亩，另有山地4262亩。水稻、甘薯是主要作物，林果则有松木、杉木、李子和茶叶。村中设茶叶加工厂2家。[1][2]
