观音村是南安市眉山乡南部的一个行政村，距南安市区约24公里。村名来自村民供奉观音的习俗。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

隋代已有人在此开垦、放养牲畜，并种植茶树。[2]

宋代此地归观音乡的仁德里所辖，元明清时期分属二十四、二十五都。1941年设眉山乡，隶属金淘区。1972年，此地脱离金淘，组成眉山人民公社。1979年7月分出一个观音大队，1984年改称观音村委会。[2][3]

2024年10月，观音村被确定为「泉州市2023年度市级‘一村一品’专业村」（主导产业：油茶）。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄地处山区，设10个村民小组，耕地与山地并存。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中早年有观音院，元代时禅房有九十九间，僧众数十人，今仅存遗址。[3]
