菊江村位于石井镇境内，明万历年间曾改名淗江。[2]
名称由来[edit]
村名原作菊浔。明万历年间（1573—1620年），村中出过一位吏部尚书。因村庄向海倾斜，泗水四散，村民于是筑堤开沟，并将村名改为淗江，寓意江水如玉带横腰。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期这里分为淗前、淗后两个保，属海滨乡。新中国成立后划归南海乡；1958年后设淗江大队，1984年为淗江村民委员会。[3]
博雅地名网在历史沿革中写作「淗江」，与当前村名「菊江」不同。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2020年、2021年与2022年，菊江村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]
