和美村位于石井镇境内，东边濒海，村名由旧称「湖美」演变而来。[1][2]

名称由来[edit]

村落四面环山，境内有一泓湖水，东边临海，原称湖美。后因闽南方言中「湖美」谐音「和美」，遂改称和美。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，这里与周边两个自然村合为一个保。1949年后划入当时的乡级建制，称湖美村；1958年公社化时期隶属建设大队，1980年分出自立为和美大队，1984年改设和美村民委员会。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，和美村上榜「2022年淘宝村」名单。[1]
