名称由来[edit]
村名促进，原先是生产上较落后的队，后取「促进」二字以示勉励，故名。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年前后，同三乡、院下、返头与东滨四处并入一个生产大队；1984年，此处改设为促进村民委员会。[4]
交通与产业[edit]
1995年以前，村里仅有一条水石莲公路穿过，交通极为不便。1996年后，村里开展交通与人居环境整治，修建了返头工业路、东滨村中路与环村路等水泥路，全长约3公里，并分别连接延平大道与沿海大通道。[2]
村里的收入主要来自石材产业，经营大板、薄板、进口板等产品。省道201线贯穿全村。[2]
人物[edit]
陈山（1917—1994）曾任中原解放区党报《七七日报》前线部队随军记者，又在大连市苏军司令部《实话报》任翻译部副主任，后来担任中国科学院哲学社会科学部所属学术资料研究室的副主任。博雅地名网称其名字载入《中国社会科学名人辞典》。[2]
民族实业家、医学家陈大恩（1872—1954）也是博雅地名网列出的村中人物。[2]
