水头社区位于福建省泉州市南安市水头镇中心，是水头镇政府驻地所在的社区，由20个居民小组组成。[1]地名的来历与大盈溪有关：这条溪流在此汇入鳌海，因有「淡水尾，咸水头」之说而称水头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带从南北朝起已有人聚居，先有宋姓居民，后有肖、陈、吴、林、吕等姓陆续迁入。宋代已形成渡口码头，贸易逐渐活跃。[2]

1957年，这里分设为水头村和水头居委会。1958年并入官桥红专公社，1961年另立水头区，次年划归官桥区，改称水头公社。[2]1965年，水头重新与官桥分开。1969年居委会被撤销，1973年重新设立，1978年再次恢复，2003年改称水头镇水头社区。[2]
