历史沿革[edit]
村名来自当地方言。据博雅地名网，村子位于南安市与泉州市交界处的“下尾”一带，当地人把“下尾”读得与“霞美”相近，遂称霞美。[1]
霞美村在民国年间属霞新、霞光两保，解放初期隶属霞美乡，1958年组成霞美大队。1984年，它成为丰州镇霞美村，直到1999年丰州镇分拆才改归霞美镇。[1][3]
地理环境[edit]
村境辖有12个自然村。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
霞美陈氏民居由菲律宾侨商陈炯辽兄弟所建。五开间大厝建于1931年，三开间大厝建于1941年，两者与一座两层洋楼自东向西连排组成；新中国成立后又增建炯霞别墅。现存建筑面积1920平方米。[4]
2009年11月16日，霞美陈氏民居被列入福建省级文物保护单位。[4]
