园内村位于康美镇中部平原，东溪流经村北，省道307线从村旁通过，东距南安市区约十五公里。[1]村域面积约5平方千米，耕地1642亩，设10个村民小组（博雅地名网，未注年份）。[1]村名因地势平坦、良田多，村民建屋于田边而来。[1]村中有绿色蔬菜基地，2024年10月，园内村被确定为「泉州市2023年度市级“一村一品”专业村」。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地的开基人是大郎公之后，唐末光启年间由河南固始迁入，后裔在此繁衍而成村落。[1]明清时属二十都，民国时一段时间叫梅成。[1]新中国成立后归洪濑十二区管辖，并与一个邻村同属梅成乡。[1]1958年人民公社时期恢复园内大队之名；1970年改名红园，后又复称园内。[1]1984年起隶属康美乡，由园内村民委员会管理；1988年归康美镇。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网记全村有1461户、人口5100人，未注年份；百度百科称户籍人口约5600人。[1][2]2023年，村中依靠土地流转，建起一片五百亩的绿色蔬菜基地，其中三百亩归村集体经营。[2]

村内建有东溪东岸发电站与水轮泵，村中农田基本能自由灌溉。[1][3]

2024年，园内村入选市级「美丽庭院」名单。[2]
