新林村位于洪梅镇西北部。村名由旧时的乡名与驻地村名各取一字而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国年间，此地属五都乡，分作三个保。1949年后设新林乡，1965年并入新林大队。[1]

1984年时隶属洪梅乡，设新林村委会；1991年12月，此地改为洪梅镇下的新林村委会。[1]
