美星村位于九都镇西北部，距镇政府驻地约5.4千米，聚落沿山美水库库边分布，下辖九个自然村[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来由是由尾股、美星、西头三个大队合并组成，于是取美星为名[1]。解放后此地初属彭中乡，1958年仍归彭中大队，次年分出另立美星大队[2]。

1972年水库移民之际，后山塘、天桥、红星（彭口）与湖上几处由他村划入，村委会的设立在1984年，纳入镇级编制则在1991年12月[2]。

地理环境[edit]

辖内自然村共九个，包括亭山、下辽、虎岫在内，设有13个村民小组[2]。

经济[edit]

农作物以水稻、甘薯、花生为主；山林树种有松木与杉木，果树有龙眼和柑桔；村中有鞋业加工厂[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

村中有彭口李氏纪念碑，资胜院的观音佛寺也是村中的一处景点[2]。

文化[edit]

2020年12月，美星村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单；2024年1月，村庄上榜「2023年度南安市和谐村（社区）」名单[1]。
