新民村是山美水库库区的移民村，位于九都镇中部，距镇政府驻地约2.5千米，下辖十个自然村[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

村庄原名祖厝，1949年解放后改称新民，取人民翻身做主人、气象一新之意[1][2]。民国时此地属岭兜保，解放初称新民乡，1958年改设大队，1984年起为村委会，1991年12月纳入镇级建制[2]。

姓氏宗族[edit]

村中有陈、柯、李、罗、林、潘等姓氏。陈氏一支的先人在1465年自永春岵山迁到岭兜保一带；柯氏先人1708年自丰州迁入后门自然村[2]。

文化[edit]

2022年10月，新民村被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2023年2月，村庄上榜「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单；2024年2月，村庄被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象；2025年1月，村庄上榜「2024年度南安市和谐村（社区）」名单；2025年11月，村庄被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」[1]。
