刘林村位于码头镇西南部，村名的来历有两说：一说北宋时的开基始祖侯永斋定居于此，村人为感其恩德而取名刘林；一说因刘氏族人聚居，又附近有刘甫林山。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时此地归依仁、锦岭两保。解放初，它隶属刘林乡；办高级社的阶段里，这里分成群联与锦联两个社。1958年曾并为刘林大队，1960年再分为两个大队，1965年重又合一，1984年才称刘林村并设村委会。[1][2]
地理环境[edit]
村委会设在祖厝，聚落在四方寨南部的丘陵山谷间，呈椭圆形分布，村内辖多个自然村。[1][2]
经济[edit]
耕地以水稻、小麦、花生和甘薯为主，土特产有柑桔和茶叶。村里有小学和卫生所。[1][2]
侨乡[edit]
刘林村是码头的侨乡之一，也是码头通往金淘的必经之地。[1]
