亭川村位于金淘镇东部。村名有两种说法：一说河谷低平处称“川”，淘溪穿过观音亭一带，故名亭川；另一说取观音亭与下村各一字为“亭”，后谐音雅称“亭川”。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

元、明、清三代属南安县十五都，民国时属观音亭保。1949年以后划入和平乡，1956年合作化时办起亭川农业社，1958年公社化时亭川成为大队，1984年改为亭川村委会。2021年12月，亭川村获「2021年度福建省森林村庄」称号；2024年1月，它又被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄地处金淘镇东部出水口，地势低，易受内涝。村境东邻毓南村，北接码头镇。[2][3]

省道307线由东向西穿过村中部，泉三高速与沈海高速在境内连接互通。[2]

人口民族[edit]

截至2008年，全村有12个村民小组，980户3560人，面积2.5平方千米。[2]

经济[edit]

村里主要种植水稻、小麦与甘薯，经济作物有烟叶、茶叶与甘蔗。果树有柑橘、龙眼与菠萝。[2]
