毓南村位于金淘镇东部，省道307线穿过全境，村名因抗日战争时期所办的毓南学校而得。村中有菩提院、院口古石桥等古迹。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

毓南原属南安县十三都，民国时期属院口保；抗日战争时期设毓南保，此后相继建毓南乡、毓南大队。1984年改设毓南村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积6.15平方千米，北侧临淘溪东畔，省道307线贯穿全境。[2]

人口民族[edit]

截至2008年，全村有15个村民小组，609户2742人。[2]

经济[edit]

耕地823亩，山地约5000亩，主要种植水稻与甘薯。村内建有跃进水库与坑头水库，前者库容约40万立方米，后者约10万立方米。[2]

文化[edit]

村中的菩提院，据《泉州府志》记载，始建于宋代景定初年（1260年），明代曾多有僧人住持。1993年，侨亲在旧址附近依山重建寺院。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村落院口的古石桥建于唐代通往泉州、永春与德化的古道上，桥头古榕树干围约8米。村中还留有清代古民居十多座，其中石雕、木雕较多。[2]
