玉园村位于金淘镇东部，村名沿用迁入者祖籍的地名，古称田头村，村中有池亭等自然村。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清以来此处归十四都管辖，民国为田头保。新中国成立后并入和平乡，1958年划归毓南大队，1980年才单独设立玉园大队，1984年成为玉园村委会。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

村域前有莲潭，后有福船山，淘溪为晋江东溪的支流，穿境而过，省道307线也贯穿境中。[2]

人口民族[edit]

截至2008年，全村有12个村民小组，共468户、1890人。耕地为631亩，山地有2480亩。[2]

经济[edit]

村里主要种植水稻、小麦与糖蔗，林果有马尾松、李子与龙眼。年轻村民外出经商者不少。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中留有古民居二十多座与古井十多口，村落祠堂也经过整修。[2]
