地名由来[edit]
地名原为当地方言「晒谷埕」的读音「朴谷埕」，因以“埕”字取名；后人为求丰收、家庭幸福，改雅为福庭。[2]
地理环境[edit]
村委会所在的科脚位于云顶山下，平均海拔690米，聚落分布在中尖山北麓。全村辖11个自然村，分为13个村民小组。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村民555户、2424人。山地6000亩，耕地1100亩。水稻为主，甘薯、油菜籽、菱白笋、岩葱和茶叶也有种植，山地多产松木和杂木。[1]
村内有小学1所、电站2座，并设有卫生所。据不完全统计，海外的侨亲与台湾同胞有6000多人，居于新加坡、印尼、马来西亚与台湾等地。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村子原属二十八都，民国年间为福庭保；解放初设福林乡，继为福林大队，1981年因地名与别地重复，改为福庭大队。1984年设翔云乡福庭村委会，到1991年12月又改为翔云镇福庭村委会。[2]
