英东村位于英都镇东端，因此得名，是英都镇的第二大行政村，也是镇中心所在。[1][2]村中有金英商业大街和英都中心小学，是镇里的商业和文化中心。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年土改时，村名按方位定为英东乡；1958年改为英东大队。1984年它成为英都乡辖下的英东村委会，翌年改隶英都镇。[2][4]

交通与产业[edit]

一级公路横贯全村，北可通往仑苍镇与南安市区，南经东田镇可达厦门。[2]水暖阀门是村里的特色产业。[2][3]

人物与名胜[edit]

村里是管乐指挥家洪潘（1909年至2004年）的故乡，他的故居在村中的下楼自然村，为闽南「皇宫起」式民居。[2]

牛尾塔是建于南宋宝庆年间的石塔，保存完好，列入泉州市文物名录（宋，古建筑）；博雅地名网称其为市级文物保护单位。[2][5][6]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，英东村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2023年1月，它入选2022年度南安市「和谐村（社区）」名单。[1]
