格头村位于东田镇政府驻地西面约16.4公里处，聚落分布在芹山下的坡地间。[1]村名取自它位于大芹山北麓、通往同安的一处山谷，故名格头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放后，格头属芹山林场管辖；后因林场撤并，此地改由桃园村代管，直至2003年才另立格头村委会。[1]

物产[edit]

村中耕地主要种水稻、甘薯和花生，山地以马尾松为主。[1]
