历史沿革[edit]
宋代这一带属经善里，归善乡管辖；元明清三代归二十八都，当时叫作尾寮口。[2]民国时，尾寮口与山坂洋各取一字拼成「尾洋」保，之后又雅化为「美洋」。解放初设美洋乡，1958年公社化后称美洋大队，1984年归东田乡，1991年改为东田镇美洋村委会。[2]
人口[edit]
2008年的统计显示，全村设22个村民小组，共有村民1016户、3674人。[2]
产业与设施[edit]
村里的耕地以水稻、甘薯为主，山林多松木和杂木。村内有小学、代销店和卫生所，并保留着传统的竹器编织。[2]南同公路穿过村子，乡村道路已全部硬化。[2]
