历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，仑苍一带开发于晋代，唐代人文与经济已相当兴盛。[5] 宋代此地归属金鸡乡与归善乡下的若干里，并依托晋江西溪发展河运，带动了其他行业。[1][5]
元、明、清三代此地属二十四至二十七都。民国初年，大宇一带已有墟埔集市，以大宇乡为中心又设二十六都。[4][5]
「仑苍」之名，据博雅地名网1928年正式启用。一说源于仑山、苍山两所学校：二校1928年建立，后合并为「仑苍学校」，地名由此出现。另一说旧称古苍圩，后来以仑尾、古苍两片合称。[5][6]
1949年后此地归美林区管辖，1958年划入城关公社，1965年起称仑苍乡，1985年2月由乡改为镇。[4][1]
2011年4月，仑苍镇获得「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号，授予方为环境保护部；2014年7月，住房和城乡建设部等七部委把仑苍镇确定为「全国重点镇」。[4]
地理环境[edit]
晋江支流西溪自西向东贯穿全境，英溪、大坝溪等支流注入其中。[3]
东与美林街道、溪美街道相接，南与东田镇、英都镇毗邻，西与安溪县接壤，北与眉山乡相连。[1]
经济[edit]
20世纪80年代初，镇内水暖阀门行业迅速发展，逐步成为水暖阀门与卫生洁具的重要生产基地之一。[5]
省乡镇企业局于2002年批准设立福建省水暖专业工业区，园区依照产业配套、工艺流程与环保要求分为美宇工业园、高新技术园和辉煌工业园三部分。[5]
2003年8月，国家建筑卫生陶瓷协会将水暖专业市场命名为「中国水暖城」；2005年5月，水暖产业入选福建省重点培育的产业集群，属首批32个之一。[5]

2021年2月，仑苍镇列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[4]
名胜古迹[edit]
蔡西村境内的妙峰山石佛位于妙峰山麓，博雅地名网称其为宋代石雕弥陀佛像，山因此有「泉南佛国」之称。据百度百科，此佛像建于南宋淳熙年间，被称为福建省现存年代最久、高度最高的立佛造像。政府网站把「妙峰山石佛岩」列为省级文物保护单位。[1][3][4][5]
园美村境内的白土山窑遗址为宋代窑址，属南安市第四批市级文物保护单位。[4]
