油园村位于省新镇南部，在狮山与虎头山之间的丘陵地带，距镇政府约2公里，地处全镇南端。[1][2]村名因旧时的榨油作坊而来，村内有7个自然村，其中油园自然村最大。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

历史上此地叫作“泉南廿四五都肘内乡”。民国年间归崇仁乡碧沙保，解放后组成碧沙乡。1958年归李西大队；1961年分出，成立油园大队；1965年又并回李西大队，1989年底，李西大队再分为李西、油园、白沙三个大队。1984年，村改为美林乡油园村委会，1988年为美林镇油园村委会，1999年1月划入省新镇。[1][2]

村域面积3平方千米，辖梅溪、宫边、内王、枫脚、油园、邱厝、扶茂7个自然村，设13个村民小组。博雅地名网记现有村民935户、3165人；百度百科则另记常住人口3865人，户籍人口3455人。两处数字不同，此处并记。[2][3]
