省东村位于省新镇中东部，东面挨着康美镇，西面与省身村相接，南面为檀林村，北面是园内村，离南安市区约6公里。[1][3]村名因地处公路东侧而得，南金公路与泉三高速都经过村境。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

元、明、清三代，这里归南安二十三都。民国年间为崇仁乡的平光保和龙山保。新中国成立后并入省身乡，1958年自立大队。1984年起属美林乡省东村委会，1988年改为美林镇省东村委会，1999年1月自美林镇拆分，划入省新镇。[1][2]

人口与村落[edit]

村辖善星、建设、龙集3个大自然村，另有9个自然村落。全村设38个村民小组，村民1818户共7068人。[1][2]

经济与设施[edit]

截至2008年，村有耕地2200亩（据百度百科）；另有果园1000多亩，作物以水稻、龙眼和荔枝为主。村中的细坑水库为中型水库。[2][3]

历史遗址与人物[edit]

村东北部的大寨山上有古代大寨遗址建筑群，博雅地名网称其被认定为新石器时代遗址。[1]明代进士林云程也是本村的历史人物，曾任知府。[1]

文化与荣誉[edit]

旅居印尼的南埔华侨陈庆鸿，于1992年出资建成村小学的一幢教学楼，名为鸿美楼，还修了一条1.5公里长的水泥路。[1]

2004至2006年间，省东村获南安市委、市政府评为文明村；2006年度，它被评为农村环境卫生整治一级达标村。2024年1月，该村列入2023年度南安市「和谐村（社区）」名单。[1][2]
