省新镇位于福建省泉州市南安市西北部，在市郊一带，是市区向北拓展的腹地，也是当地的工业镇。[1]镇域面积61平方千米，东面与康美镇相邻，南面连接美林街道，西面挨着眉山乡，北面翻过保福岭可以到金淘镇。[1]镇内产业以日用品加工为主，建材和运输业也占一定比重。[3]境内的南安林氏民居（林路厝）与唐代的尤宗墓都是文物古迹，前者在满山红村，后者在新厅村。[5][6]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代，这里属金鸡乡的清歌、仁德二里。元、明、清时期改属廿三、廿四、廿五都。民国十七年（1928年）成为美林乡的一部分，民国三十五年（1946年）划归崇仁乡。解放初隶属第三区，1956年归美林区，1958年分出南厅乡，同年又并入美林人民公社。[2]
关于设镇的时间，两个来源有出入：百度百科记为1998年9月1日撤销美林镇、同时设立美林街道与省新镇；博雅地名网则作1999年，由美林镇分设。两说都记在此处。[2][4]
2022年6月，南安市政府批准设立金丹社区居民委员会，同年7月正式挂牌，它是镇内唯一的社区。[2][9]
地理环境[edit]
镇域北部以保福岭为界，岭下的隧道通往金淘镇。2011年4月，环境保护部授予省新镇「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]
人口民族[edit]
据百度百科，2019年末全镇户籍人口为52485人。[4]
经济[edit]
镇内企业以日用品为大宗，纸品、密胺塑料制品、旅游用品、针织服装和茶叶加工都有分布。建材行业以石材、陶瓷和砖瓦为主，运输业也占一定比重。这些情况据博雅地名网的材料，其中的数字多指2006年前后，此处不列数字。[3]
2002年10月，省新镇被中国名优特产品推荐委员会命名为「中国日用品生产基地」。[2]

2021年2月，省新镇被列入福建省2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
南安林氏民居又称林路厝，在满山红村，是南安籍华侨建筑家林路在清光绪年间于家乡兴建的民居群，光绪三十四年（1908年）竣工。[5][8]2013年3月5日，国务院公布其为第七批全国重点文物保护单位；博雅地名网则记为福建省文物保护单位，两说有出入。[5][8]
尤宗墓位于新厅村，是唐代的古墓葬。泉州市的文物保护单位名录（市、县级）列有此墓，所在地写作省新镇新厅村。[6]博雅地名网称它为南安市级文物保护单位，墓主是尤氏始祖宗思礼，因被唐朝封为驸马，故称驸马墓。[7]
