李西村隶属南安市美林街道，位于街道驻地西北约2公里处，村委会驻江滨路，下辖洽水头、巷仔口等自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

早先村境内有一处李树环绕的住宅，原称「李宅」。后因一条公路将其分为两村，位于公路西侧的一村遂取名「李西」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期归崇仁乡李西保管辖。解放后仍称李西村，1958年公社化时设李西大队，1985年改设村委会；1988年归美林镇，1999年改隶美林街道。[2]

经济[edit]

村中的工厂有亚美鞋厂，另有晶联化工厂与日兴福利铝业。[2]
