社区只含李东一个自然村，居民点沿西溪北岸的河谷地铺展。[2]

村名以驻地李东自然村为名。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
民国年间属崇仁乡的李东保。解放后称李东村；1958年公社化时设李东大队，1984年改设美林乡的李东村委会，1988年归属美林镇，1999年归美林街道。[2]
