庄顶社区隶属南安市美林街道，原为庄顶村，位于街道驻地东面约2.8公里处，居委会原驻旧村。[1][2]

村内有旧村、新村两个自然村。[2]

地名由来[edit]

旧时村庄常受洪水冲毁，村民逐步迁往旧村高处建房，久而久之形成新的村落。新村位于旧村的顶方，村名因此取为「庄顶」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国年间，此地为崇仁乡的庄顶保。解放后称庄顶村，1958年设庄顶大队，1984年改为美林乡所辖的村委会，1988年转入美林镇，1999年归美林街道管辖为村委会。[2][3]
