南美社区隶属南安市美林街道，位于市区北部，居委会设在南美开发区，与美林街道办事处毗邻。[1][2]

社区于2003年4月由原居委会分设而来，名称因原有的南美工业区而得。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区范围东起南安糖厂边的道路，西至南金公路与中桥路的交叉处，南面以南洪公路为界，北面沿中桥路至水沟。[2]

文化[edit]

辖区内设有南安六中的招生服务片区，并有市中医院、市实验小学分校、市消防大队等单位。[2][3]

2021年2月，南美社区列入福建省2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单。福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年12月将社区命名为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。2025年1月，社区上榜「2024年度南安市和谐村（社区）」名单。[2]
