美林社区是南安市美林街道的8个居委会之一，居委会设在家装商城三楼，位于街道驻地以南约0.2公里处。[1][2]

社区由许厝、溪江、松脚、松源、下角五个自然村组成。据百度百科，辖区常住人口以黄姓为主。[2][3]

地名由来[edit]

村民原从东埔头的马林崎迁来，沿用旧名「马林」，后因闽南方言的雅化而称「美林」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国年间此地设崇仁乡。新中国成立后编入第三区，1958年曾与城关、仑苍等地同归一个公社，之后再分为几个小公社。[2]

1984年，此地成为美林乡下的美林村委会；1988年随建制转隶美林镇；1999年转为街道下的美林社区居委会。2003年4月，原辖区分设为两个社区居委会。[2]
