历史沿革[edit]
村子早先叫“山外”，属南安三十都。民国时期，取自然村宣德、化俗两地的名字各一字，合为“宣化”。[1][2]
新中国成立后设宣化乡；1958年改为宣化大队；1984年又改成宣化村委会。[1][3]
地理环境[edit]
村境地势西高东低，是九十九溪流域的源头之一。[2]全村面积5.68平方千米，辖4个自然片村，分为17个村民小组。[2]
姓氏宗族[edit]
全村以林姓为主，始祖林惠官生于元朝丙子年（公元1336年）。[4]
文化[edit]
明万历四十三年（1615年）乙卯科，村人林应煃中举。[4]
村中现存清代古民居三十多座，其中有三座一字排开的“典当”古大厝；另有建于清康熙年间的三会堂。[4]
