湖美社区隶属南安市溪美街道，位于市区西南侧，南面靠近南山公园，面积约1.8平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区名称取自柳湖与彭美两地各一字，2003年4月定名。[1][3]

社区前身是柳湖大队，公社时期又与彭美大队合并。1999年8月，彭美居委会分出一块，称“三塘居委会”；至2003年4月，才改设为湖美社区。[1][4]

地理环境[edit]

社区东与市医院、白沙崎社区相接，西与彭美社区、柳城中学为邻，北面与电力公司相邻。[2]

文化[edit]

辖区内的隐秀寺公园，1998年复建大雄宝殿，寺中设有观音大佛与十八罗汉雕像。[2]
