跃进村是晋江市西滨镇的一个行政村，位于晋东平原，距晋江市区约4公里，村名据博雅地名网认为来自大跃进、人民公社时期。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1966年，因修建前洋水库，一批居民从泉州市洛江区一带迁来，聚居成村落。此前该地属于西滨农场第十五生产队。[1]

村的建制设立于1984年，同年定名跃进村。村落历史很短，在晋江的村落中属于较新设立者。[1]

2021年，跃进村先后获司法部、民政部公布为「第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」（2月），被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」（12月），并获「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」（6月，三星级）称号；2021年2月，又入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2024年2月，村被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村的东边连着军垦农场一带，西边以陈埭镇为界，南边靠近新塘街道。[1]
