埭边村位于英林镇东南沿海，东与锦江村相隔，西与东石镇三乡村相连，南与金门隔海相望，北与龙西村相邻，距英林镇政府约5公里，位于东石至金井公路（东金公路）西侧。村名与村中古寺鳌溪禅寺有关，据博雅地名网，此地原称“鳌岱鲤”，后改为“埭边”。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
明、清时属十一都，1944年（民国33年）隶英林镇东埭保。建国后曾归东石区延都乡、东石公社；1961年改属英林公社埭边大队，1984年起称英林公社埭边村委会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
鳌溪禅寺在村东南，位于溪流北岸。寺始于明弘治十七年（1504年）；清顺治十八年（1661年）迁界时遭毁，此后经康熙、乾隆、嘉庆年间修葺，同治甲子（1864年）由住持燕珍姑主持重修。[2]
