高湖村位于英林镇东南部，西距英林镇区约2公里，北接龙湖镇，东北临深沪湾，东南隔海与金门相对。村址靠近虺湖的尾端，又因高氏最早在此定居，因而称“高湖”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清时此地属十四都；1944年（民国33年）为英林镇高山保。建国后，村地先归金井区英林镇，又于1959年划入金井公社玉山大队，1961年并入英林公社高湖大队。1984年起为英林镇高湖村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

澄碧庵始建于明天启四年（1624年），供奉观音，清顺治十八年（1661年）迁界时被焚。清道光四年（1824年）乡人重建，并改称金湖观音堂。[2]

天寿寺为市三级文物保护单位，由高湖籍乡贤洪祖星首倡兴建。[2]
