周坑村位于晋江市南部、永和镇南部，东面与锦岭村相邻，南面是东石镇的清透村[1]。古时周氏先在此坑地建居，村名因此而来[2]。

地理与人口[edit]

村子离晋江市区和镇政府约5.5公里，西面连着东石镇草洪塘村，北面与巴厝村相接[1]。村内有下乡、顶乡、新乡、新乡铺四个自然村，以顶乡自然村为主村，共10个村民小组[1]。

2021年村情汇总表记载，村内共767户，女性1508人，男性1680人，总人口3188人；常住人口同为3188人，60岁及以上386人[1]。外出流动人口1180人，约占37%，主要前往湖北麻城和山东汶上，从事经商和务工[1]。村中人口较多的姓氏是曾姓和蔡姓[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子明清时属十二都，民国时属康乐乡。1961年归永和公社，设周坑大队；1984年起为永和乡下的周坑村委会，1991年划归永和镇管辖[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年6月，周坑村被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」，评定为三星级[2]。
