马坪村位于晋江市中部，在永和镇政府西南方向约1.8公里处，东面与茂亭村相邻[1]。社马路、大深路和晋南快速通道经过村子，厦漳泉城市联盟高速也从村中穿过，交通条件较好[1]。

地理与人口[edit]

村子西面接上宅村，南面到西坑村，北面连着永和镇区[1]。全村辖马坪、西店、上山、井上四个自然村，以马坪自然村为主村[1]。

2021年村情汇总表记载，全村设30个村民小组，共1428户。女性2750人、男性2966人，合计总人口5716人；常住人口有8600余人[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子明清时属十二都，民国时属康乐乡，建国后先后归东石区和东石公社管辖。1961年划归永和公社，1984年改为永和镇马坪村委会[2]。
