玉湖村位于晋江市东部、永和镇东北部，东北面与石狮市相邻，距永和镇区约3公里[1]。村内以服装面料经营为主要行业[1]。

地理与人口[edit]

村子东面与割山村相邻，南面与后埔村相接，西面连着灵秀山脉，北面与石狮灵秀创业园相邻[1]。全村有1个自然村，设8个村民小组，共260户[1]。

2021年村情汇总表记载，总人口986人，女性471人，男性515人；常住人口同为986人，60岁及以上156人[1]。村中有两个姓氏，蔡姓为多，翁姓较少[1]。外出流动人口32人，约占全村人口0.3%，主要去往江浙一带，从事服装面料经营[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，民国时期此地属至善乡彭田保，建国后先后归栖梧区与龙湖公社管辖[2]。1961年改归永和公社，村称湖内大队；1980年更名玉湖大队；1984年设为永和镇玉湖村委会[2]。

乡村建设[edit]

2005年，玉湖村通过了泉州市「宽裕型文明村」的验收[2]。
